I got word the other day of a cool new tool from inside the Google Labs. It’s called Google Trends. You can search specific terms to view a graph of the keywords search volume. It’s really great for some market research. Here’s a graph below comparing the growth of MySpace and YouTube.

MySpace vs YouTube Graph
Every time I log into MySpace, I see many users on my “friends list” posting several bulletin messages. Now, many of these posts are just silly viral surveys. I guess it’s fun for people that have nothing else better to write.
Anyway, there are some people that actually write useful content. Maybe it’s about a restaurant they went to the other night, or about a hobby they take pride in. Do they even realize they could just create a REAL blog (like Blogger or WordPress) and actually make money!? Depending on how many people are on their “friends list”, they can just send out a link to their blog rather than to MySpace.
