An Open Secret?

I just finished reading an interesting article about Toyota.

As some of you may know, I’m a big a fan of their company.  Their approach to lean manufacturing amazes me.  There is an overwhelming amount of information that can be learned from them, even if you run an online business.

Here’s the article I just read:

  1. An excellent article. I have also read about Toyotas processes time and time again. The quality of their vehicles, at least those made in Japan, is unshakable. My Toyota Camry was built in Japan, and I’ve never had an issue with it. Nothing has gone wrong in the 7 years I’ve had it. Compare that to my last vehicle - a GM, everything went wrong with it. In 10 years, I changed the battery 10 times, the alternator at least 7 times. I like their method of slow, incremental improvements and use this in my management style (I’m a Director of Operations) — though it really irks those above me because they would rather see me implement changes RIGHT NOW, but knowing my team it will never fly.
