Are You Time Poor?

That’s the term John Muir used for “people who were so obsessed with tending their material wealth and social standing that they couldn’t spare the time to truly experience the splendor of California’s Sierra wilderness.” - vagabonding

Hmm, I can think of many other examples of being “time poor”. One example of me being time poor was when I visited Mt. Rainier a few weeks ago for the first time. I decided to take a drive to a place called “paradise” which is the highest point you can drive to on Mt. Rainier. The only problem was just that. I drove there…and drove back. I can honestly say that I was time poor and didn’t spend enough time admiring all that the mountain had to give me. Staying in the car, getting out to eat or snap a few photos is a good example of being time poor.

I do plan to go back, maybe sometime this year. It seems like it would be a nice place to go camping, maybe to spend sometime with friends and family even.

What are you missing?
