cPanel Backup Guide

Saturday, February 9th, 2008 by Aaron Brandon | News, Online Business

I was moderating comments earlier and one comment caught my attention. It was from Mohamed Bhimji.  He just finished creating a PDF guide showing how to make backups of your website within cPanel.

I can admit to not backing up my sites as regularly as I’d like to.  That’s why this report really stuck out for me.

Think about this… If your web hosting (This is my affiliate link) provider were to suddenly close their business, or were to have a major server problem and your files were all lost, would your business be safe?  How long would it take you to get your website back up and running?

Hopefully you or someone else makes regular backups of all your important web pages.  Hopefully you’ve been keeping updated backups of your site on a separate server.

Mohamed’s guide is free.  I don’t see any ads or affiliate links, so I’ll throw the link to it up here:

If you don’t have cPanel, check with your hosting (This is my affiliate link) provider for an alternate way to keep backups of your site.  Some providers will state that they keep backups of all your files, but if you want to be safe, YOU should be the one with the control over those backups.
