Flooded With Links Back

Monday, March 3rd, 2008 by Aaron Brandon | News, Online Business, Traffic

What if you were to check your e-mail in the morning and see 90 notifications that your blog was submitted to related blogs, and to know that soon down the road, with no effort, you will easily get that many links back to your blog?

Well, that’s what happens to me.  I used to submit to blog carnivals on a regular basis.  It was fairly easy to do when I wrote only a few blog entries per week and up to one a day.  But eventually it becomes a tedious process to do yourself, and that task needs to get outsourced so:

1. you don’t burn out (lose your energy)

2. you don’t become less productive in other important business tasks.

So what do I do?  If you don’t want to submit to blog carnivals yourself, there are a few simple solutions.

The first solution would be to create your own intern program.

The next solution would be to outsource your task to a paid contractor.

And the final solution would be to pay $100/month for a service which already has interns and contractors submitting blog entries to blogs related to your own on a daily basis.

I’ve done all three of those solutions listed above.  However, I’ve had the most luck using someone else’s service.

Here’s what I use:

I highly recommend it.

  1. I agree with Aaron here.

I have James Brausch’s Blog Carnival procedure, and recommend it too.

The links it builds are some of the highest quality (citation style) links you can build for SEO purposes - plus they have some added benefits like improving your Technorati authority - and both result in improved traffic.

  3. Hi Brandon,

Thanks for all the helpful tips… I have a quick question… with this service from James, does the blog have to be about “internet business” stuff? I have a dog blog site, would this service work for this type of site when I can’t really find many carnivals around this theme?

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Shannon,

There are a number of different carnivals to submit to. Though there may not be carnival stricktly about dogs, there may be some about pets, animals, and so fourth… for example: On occasion, my blog does get submittted to non “internet business” carnivals. Like If i blog about something health related on this blog, it may get submitted to health, wellness, fitness types of carnivals. I’ve never had a blog which was non internet business related which hasn’t related to at least 5 carnivals.

  5. I use James Brausch’s Carnival Submission service, and I have a lot of family and kid related stuff that gets submitted. I even had a post that was applicable submitted to a carnival of eating disorders! I highly recommend that service for any subject blog.
